Saving the arts these days is a worldwide concern. The San Fernando Valley is especially concerned about saving the arts in LAUSD schools, as well as supporting visual, music and performance art citywide.
The arts always seem to be the first casualty during a recession. Talking heads feel that it’s a luxury we can do away with, or a disposable part of education. Anyone who has a relationship with the arts knows that neither one of these are true.
Art is a vital part of life…a creative force on so many levels, and it’s time that art is recognized for all that it brings to our lives, be it a powerful message, a soothing sound or a mind blowing performance.
Take the time to support the arts: volunteer your time, blog about the arts, attend local exhibits, contact local officials, or give a donation.
